Born from Accident, Loved by a Family - Sea Salt Double Chocolate (Callebaut) Cookies

Some cookies are created from perfected recipe... but this one? Hmm... It was born from a beautiful accident.

I didn't plan to make the Sea Salt Double Chocolate Cookies. It wasn't from any baking book or chef's notes. It came together just like how a witch stirs her cauldron - a little of this, a pinch of that, no rules, just intuition. That day, I was simply mixing and accidentally melt the chocolate, and then, just for fun, I sprinkled some sea salt on top before baking.

The Art of Chocolate
It's has its own beautiful!

What came out of the oven was something else. The chocolate melted just right, the edges crisped up with a tender middle, and that sea salt? It made everything sing.

From One Accident to a Family Favorite!

Of course, recreating the same “accidental” cookie wasn’t easy.I failed quite a few times. Some batches were too salty. Some too soft. Some didn’t rise. But slowly—after enough tries and enough smiles around the family table—it became a recipe I could trust.

Now, it’s one of the most loved cookies in our house. One of those that disappears before it cools. One that our customers ask about, again and again.

So, is the Sea Salt too much?

Some say yes.

Some say it’s perfect.

We say: it’s the soul of this cookie.

Because not every cookie needs to be sweet from start to finish. Not every flavor needs to blend quietly in. Sometimes, contrast is what makes things unforgettable.

And sometimes, the best things don’t start with a plan—They start with an accident…that turns into a story worth sharing.
